Documentary / Creative Photographer and Soundscape artist

Commissions & Collections:

  • 2021-2022 Commission to photograph and make soundscapes of the ‘RCA Artists & Makers of Conwy’ involving studio visits in conjunction with Conwy County Council and the RCA.
  • 2021 Commission to photograph actor, Ezra Miller on location, filming of ‘Dali Land’ (Chris Curling, Producer and Mary Harron, Director)
  • 2020-2021 Commission to photograph the building transition over 8 months for Penderyn’s new Distillery in Llandudno, North Wales.
  • 2020 Commission to photograph the first Penderyn Distillery, South Wales.
  • 2019 Commission for ‘Conwy Portraits’ to form a permanent archive collection for Conwy Culture Centre, opened in December 2019.
  • 2019-18 A 6 month ‘Artist Residency’ for the transition from Ysgol Bodlondeb to Conwy Culture Centre (with Sian Hutchinson and Lisa Heledd Jones).
  • 2016-2015 32 Artists Portraits and studio studies for ‘Retake Reinvent’ exhibition, (Permanent Collection) for Bangor University / Museum of Wales.
  • 2010 Management Centre, Bangor University purchased 60 framed land and sea scape photographs for permanent display.
  • 2008 ‘Newborough Reserve’, commissioned for Countryside Council Wales and Forestry Commission.

Awards, Residencies & Projects:

  • 2023 Memorial Sunday – Recorded ‘Memorial Bells’ soundscape at St.Aidan’s, Bamburgh, Northumberland. An Installation by Keith Roberts and accompanied by the composition ‘Caboretto’ by John Casken performed by The Cosmo Singers (University of Manchester Chamber Choir) conducted by Robert Guy.
  • 2022 Oriel Mostyn Autumn Residency – I collaborated with fellow sound recordist, Carl Richardson and the Sheffield based social architectural practice, ‘Studio Polpo’ on consulting and exploring ideas for ‘the Studio Space’ at Mostyn, a public engagement project.
  • 2021-2022 ‘RCA Conwy Artists & Makers’ (Environmental Portrait works, commissioned by Conwy Council).
  • 2021 Plas Bodfa ‘Sounds from an empty House’ invited to participate in a 24 hour Sound recording streaming project. Soundlands: http://soundlands.org
  • 2020 Arts Council Wales, ‘Sounds behind the Photographs’ (Stabilisation Urgent Response grant to expand on Creative Practise.
  • 2020 Elected as a full-time member of the Royal Cambrian Academy.
  • 2019-2018 Conwy Culture Centre Residency Engaging with the local Community to provide a sense of ownership and connection to the Culture Centre – book and exhibition launched Summer, 2020.
  • 2014-2013 Welsh Arts Council, (‘Ireland, there and back, again’) Production Award, resulting in a touring exhibition of new and retrospective work.
  • 2006 Observer Food Magazine & Seeds of Change Photographic Competition / Touring Exhibition  (Runner-up, joint second).
  • 2007-2006 Welsh Arts Council, Individual Project Award, touring exhibition and Residency, “Ynys Llanddwyn; Moments in Time”).
